We created our skill levels according to the techniques required to sew each pattern, but our patterns will teach you everything so don't be afraid to sew above your skill level!

Beginner

Beginner sewing patterns teach the most foundational sewing techniques. These patterns focus on the basics like sewing and finishing straight and curved seams, hemming, and simple shaping methods such as darts and gathers. In addition, beginner patterns omit closures, making them perfect if you are new to sewing or are looking for a quick and easy make.

Advanced Beginner

Advanced Beginner sewing patterns expand on the skills learned at the beginner level, helping you to build confidence and range as a sewer. You'll find simple knitwear projects, bias tape finishing techniques, and begin to explore closures at this skill level.

Intermediate

Intermediate level sewing patterns focus on more precision sewing. In this skill level, you'll learn specialty closures. Intermediate patterns also introduce the skills needed for simple lingerie and athletic wear projects.

Advanced

Advanced sewing patterns require great precision and time investment. You'll find tailored pieces in this category with elevated details like bound buttonholes and welt pockets.

  • Description

    The pleated wrap skirt sewing pattern

    Darcy is a wrap skirt with a special detail at the waist. This skirt pattern features three radiating pleats at a lined tie closure for a soft drape that draws your eye to the whole garment. It has a semi-fitted, straight cut with a curved, faced hemline, and darts create additional shaping at the back of the waist. The wrap is secured with a hidden twill tape tie inside, and the lined tie on the outside is sandwiched within the facing. This means you can move comfortably all day without worrying about the wrap flying open.

  • Fabric & Supplies

    Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as linen, linen blends, and rayon, viscose, Tencel, and silk.

    All-purpose polyester sewing thread, sewing machine needle, 2 1/8 yards lightweight fusible interfacing, point turner, one yard 1/4" twill tape.

    Refer to size chart for amount of fabric needed for your size.

  • Sizing & Fit

    Sophia is wearing a size 2 graded to a 4 at the hip. We also removed 1/2" at the waist, and reduced the hip depth by 1". Her measurements are 34", 25.5", 37" and she is 5'8"

    Morgan is wearing a size 20 with no adjustments. Her measurements are 48”, 41”, 52” and she is 5'9".

    Our Misses patterns are drafted for a C cup and our Curvy patterns are drafted for DD. Both are drafted for a height of 5'8" (172 cm).
